Life, in A Nutshell #1

"An unexamined life is not worth living"
-Socrates

I can't stop thinking about how a single sentence, delivered by a man 2 millennia ago, could affect my life that significantly, jeez. Regardless of numerous critiques, i have to say that i agree with him in this matter. I'm not trying to claim that i've already examined my life, but at the very least i keep trying to.

Why do we have to examine our lives? What's so important about analyzing whatever it is? Life is simple, isn't it? As George Carlin said "Life is not that complicated. You get up, you go to work, eat three meals, you take one good shit and you go back to bed. What's the fucking mystery?" In the context of stand-up satire criticizing American consumer culture, yes that somehow may represent the partial truth (and yes that is a great punchline, for me that matters). But i'm pretty sure you would all agree that life is not always that easy, no?

This post is going to be personal. Very deeply personal. Bear with me.

Lord.

Okay, so, before we can answer why we have to examine our lives, we have to understand what Socrates was trying to say. What are the implications to that statement? What did he mean by unexamined life? Why is it not worth living? Simply put, as you're all aware, Socrates is one of the greatest philosophers of all time. His thoughts are still discussed and used by another hardcore philosophers 2000 years after his death. Let's just all agree that Socrates is a great thinker, thus intellectual. Considering his ability to conceive great ideas with his intellectual capacity, the quote "unexamined life is not worth living" implies his bitterness and irritation toward the mass. With that in mind, i conclude that the phrase "unexamined life" refers to the lives' of the illiterates, of unenlightened mass, it refers to the unfulfilled lives of the people whose existence is defined by someone/something else, for instance religion or state. Well i don't think i have to get into the political contexts of Socrates's era because the quote is still relevant however the condition of one's era is.

Compellingly, every critique and argument against that statement always emphasizes the "not worth living" part. As far as i'm concerned, none of the critique is directed toward the phrase "unexamined life" which is kind of funny. Whereas for me, the biggest question about that statement is, how elitist it actually is. That simple sentence discerns that some people have unexamined lives, and no one denies it. Instead they only argue that even unexamined lives are worth living, because everyone has their own means of examination. Bearing that in mind, it is obvious that every thinker agrees that Socrates's mechanism of life examination, namely philosophy in its traditional structured definition, is not a praxis for everyone.

Well, who the hell am i to disagree with that. But fuck it, i naively disagree.

Before we get to the bottom of why i disagree with the stand that philosophy is not for everybody, let's first resolve why examining life is an important fulfilling activity.

Love, hate, faith, respect, hope

dishonesty, are all part of it

Everything is part of this bigger picture

I have been thinking so much

I would like to assume that everyone struggles against the riddle of existence

Some are wise enough to figure it out, some are not, and some are just too occupied

I would like to assume that everyone attempts to decode human nature

Some say it is there, some say it is not, and once again some are just too busy

I would like to assume that everyone is getting a grip on reality

Some do, some do not, and some just do not give a shit

Some think life is sweet
Some think it is until it is not

Some accuse others of wrongdoings
Some think it is just a matter of perspective

Some think deceits are fucking dandy
Some say the ends justify the means

Some tell the biggest lie to be acknowledged
Some only listen to what they want to hear

Some believe life is nothing
Some believe it does not appear to be so

Some know we are helpless
Some know we are

Some know

You get to figure it out

Or you do not

Either way it does not matter

Life goes on with or without you, it has been that way for a long time now

Some would want to know

Some just want to be left alone

Second Thoughts on Liberty #3

Shit it's been months, guess i really have problems with consistency, nevertheless, here comes the final part of my stupid posts about anarcho libertarianism. I don't know why but i find it very hard to properly construct this post, been rereading it for tens of times and still can't find a single good structurization. It's not that i'm saying my previous writings are in good structure, it's just very hard to actually get good coherent connections for the points of this post. Fuck it aight.

So most part of this post, for instance the materials, the bottom lines, the main ideas, have already been on the draft since the next 2 weeks after i publish the last part. Yet how come it took months to finish this one? It was of course a matter of will and enthusiasm and chips and masturbations, but most important of all, i was thinking very carefully about the potential inconsistencies regarding the arguments i built in the previous posts (i was just trying to be consistent, even on my fallacies).

So, the consistency that i was trying to keep on building the understandings and arguments upon the solution of anarcho libertarianism is about the statement that i threw on the last post, which is the notion of liberty and not taking it to the philosophical level since it will all become much too absurd. On the other hand, in this post, i'm striking the solution of 'educated society', which of course is intertwined with liberty, in the philosophical fashion. But now i'm pretty sure that this post is not entirely about taking the semantics of liberty to the contexts of absurd conceptions, that means, it's fairly okay to take the notion of liberty to some certain philosophical level to elaborate my arguments only in this regard, though it may, one way or another, be fallacious to my own train of thoughts.

Well whatever, i played too much dota and chess, that's why it took months, but yes i really thought deeply about the inconsistency, and second guessing myself that this philosophical argument about education is a MacGuffin of my perspective on decoding austrian school. I FEEL CHEAP.

Second Thoughts on Liberty #2

So here's what i understand in terms of deciphering ideology. Ideology is might as well be called as a fundamental, yet sophisticated, philosophy to hold on to on a civilized society. This philosophy has 3 distinguished general means to be implemented, which are: social, politics, and economy. I don't know whether or not the definition above is written anywhere but that's more or less what i learned, and it comes in very handy whenever i try to root out bottom lines. The ideas require the whole 3 systems to be totally implemented or else the whole system may collapse, being unideal.

The 3 means are the trinity of the ideology, they might not have similar shapes but they're one. The social order is addressing the specific culture of the ideology. The politics is, traditionally, the consensual means to obtain the fully functioning ideal society by maintaining stability, being the catalyst of the social's ideals. The economy is a mechanism, a medium which has the identical aim as of the politics', but is not necessarily as straightforward.

The social order is the Father, the politics is the Son, the economy is the Holy spirit, and the ideology is substantially the God. I'm very bad at making analogy but that's the best i can do, hope no one got offended, you know people these days.

Second Thoughts on Liberty #1

So i've been reading some books and watching some documentaries ─ though i know it was not enough ─ about libertarianism or of libertarians' for, i don't know, maybe around 2 years. And lately, i'm really going mad.

At first i thought i got the idea, the bottom line, i was pretty sure that i got the bottom line of libertarianism. But after the latest reading and watching, i can officially say that i don't understand a fucking shit about it.

So, i'm not in the capacity of saying that i'm a big fan of Noam Chomsky for i believe that i haven't read enough to state that. But by far, he's been fucking up my head through only 2 books of his. But i hate him cause he fucked my whole understandings about libertarianism, which happened to be something i started to think as something worthwhile to adapt as something equal to life principles. Only after i watched the last 3 documentaries, which were Manufacturing Consent (1992),The Corporation (2003), and Requiem For The American Dream (2015), i found out about the existence of the opposite wing of libertarianism conception i got in my head: something named libertarian socialism, the left wing of libertarianism.

I know that's stupid, i know. I know that's very stupid like after more than 2 years i just found out that libertarianism itself got different stances on viewing. But dude fuck it i really don't understand why things should always be so complicated when it comes to this kind of philosophy.

Paradoks Revolusi Iran

Sesi Curhat Jokowi #1

https://tirto.id/investigasi-allan-nairn-ahok-hanyalah-dalih-untuk-makar-cm2X
https://theintercept.com/2017/04/18/trumps-indonesian-allies-in-bed-with-isis-backed-militia-seeking-to-oust-elected-president/
